Maker of paper cranes of hope tries a novel way to inauguration
It will be on a wing and a prayer that Katie Schmidt makes it to Barack Obama's inauguration. And, if all goes as planned, the kindness -- and dollar bills -- of strangers.
Schmidt, 24, wants 1,000 people to send her a square piece of paper with a message of hope written on it, plus one dollar.
FLDS buys Colorado property
DENVER -- Members of a polygamous sect have been quietly buying up property in Colorado's Custer and Fremont counties and settling in, according to the Custer County sheriff."We have reason to believe that they are the same organization that was in Texas that has been in the news," said Custer County Sheriff Fred Jobe.
Dead baby left outside hospital
DENVER -- A baby girl in a basket was left outside Presbyterian St. Luke's hospital here Tuesday night.The infant was pronounced dead at the hospital. It was not known how old the baby was, or whether she was dead already when she was dropped off.Denver police received a call at 7:40 p.m. saying an infant had been left outside the hospital.
