I'm thrilled to report my prediction was 100 percent wrong. A few weeks back I thought Europe would drill the United States at the Ryder Cup. I have never been so glad to be wrong.

Vijay Singh wins last week's PGA Tournament at The Barclays in a playoff with Sergio Garcia and Kevin Sutherland ... yawn.

I was looking down the top-10 finishes at the Barclays -- Matt Goggin, Martin Laird, Kevin Streelman -- not exactly media standouts. Where are Ernie Els, Retief Goosen, Phil Mickelson and Jim Furyk, all world-class players?

Fifth? Tiger must be slumping

Tiger Woods is in a slump. Not only did he not win last Sunday's World Golf Championships event at Doral, he didn't finish second, and he didn't finish third.
