Treasures: This lovely cabinet may need a little more TLC

Dear Helaine and Joe:

I would like to have some information about this cabinet. It stands 33-1/4 inches tall and the top dimensions are 19-3/8 by 33-3/8 inches. It has one shelf inside. One of the photographs I have included shows the sun streaming on the piece so you can see the colors in the design. What is the age and value?

Thank you,

C.M., Syracuse, N.Y.

Treasures: Bronze statue not likely to draw collectors

Dear Helaine and Joe:

Could you tell me the value of this solid bronze statue? It is 26 inches tall with a lead crystal bowl that is 9 inches in diameter and a marble base. It has "Italy" stamped on the bottom. Hanging prisms make it look like the nude woman is playing in the rain. Any information would be helpful.

Thank you,

D.W, North Augusta, S.C.

Treasures: Is this rocker worth much?

Dear Helaine and Joe:

My little rocker appears to be walnut and is 29 inches tall. It is in great condition, but we had the seat re-caned in 1985. We understand that this type of seating is called an "Eastlake nanny rocker." Why is it called this? What are its age and value?

Thank you,

Treasures: Mammy cookie jar likely a reproduction

Dear Helaine and Joe:

Please let me know if you are interested in our treasures. We think the cookie jar is Aunt Jemima. There is a big "B" on the base underneath.

Thank you,

M.S., Livonia, Mich.

Dear M.S.:

One of the reasons we decided to answer this question is the phrase, "let me know if you are interested in our treasures."

Treasures: Glass rolling pin may be worth dough

Dear Helaine and Joe: I believe this glass rolling pin may have been made by my grandfather's brother, Joseph Pote. He was a glassblower around the late 1800s and lived in East Stroudsburg, Pa., for a while. The piece has a hole in one end, which I think was where a cork might be placed. Could you supply some information about it? Thanks for you help. -- C.R., Aiken, S.C.
