CALGARY, Alberta -- When a Canadian man and his 12-year-old girlfriend were jailed for killing three members of her family, they found away to communicate across prison walls. They exchanged love letters expressing their joy in the notoriety the slayings had brought them and planned for their future as husband and wife.

CALGARY, Alberta -- As elk, deer and moose living along the eastern slopes of the Rockies in central Alberta struggle to survive, wildlife officials are willing to try almost anything to prop up the dwindling herds.This week, 85 elk were carefully loaded onto trucks and moved from Elk Island National Park, east of Edmonton, into their new digs around Rocky Mountain House.
