No goals doesn't mean no excitement

Did you see that France and Switzerland tied 0-0 in the World Cup Tuesday? I bet that 99.99 percent of Americans who read that score in the paper thought that the game must have stunk.

They're nuts.

0-0 games are passion-filled, stomach-churning balls of tension - especially during the last 10 minutes. In a tight game every scoring chance is magnified exponentially, because if one team gets a goal, there's a 99.99 percent chance that they're going to win.

It's just like the late innings of a pitcher's duel in baseball, where one swing of the bat can win the game, and every base runner is critical.

Actually, most Americans don't like pitcher's duels. No wonder they don't understand 0-0 soccer games.
