"OBJECTIVE: The position I want to diligently work under would fulfill all my fields of interest and excel confidence while excavating resources to finalize projects or assignments. I anticipate that this position will not only be suited for me but also acquire a profile of imperative examination."
We're lost already.
Job candidates who effectively -- yet succinctly -- communicate the depth of their experience are able to make the most headway in the employment market. A streamlined resume is particularly important today because hiring managers are being inundated with applications and don't have much time to review the materials they receive.
Even if you have an extensive work history, trim your resume to just one or two pages by focusing on your most relevant and recent experience. In addition, give yourself ample space to address your top skills and professional accomplishments by eliminating irrelevant details about your personal life.
"HOBBIES: I love talking in funny voices. I do a great Yoda impression."Discuss Star Wars in a job interview we will not.
RESUME: "My mantra is 'I am what I am, and that's all that I am.'"
Must have been a philosophy major.
"ABOUT ME: I like the American version of 'The Office' better than the British version."
The team at Dunder Mifflin will be pleased to hear this. Moreover, don't include information relating to your salary requirements or references unless a prospective employer includes a request in the job ad.
"SALARY REQUIREMENTS: Salary to be negotiaed."
Not until your spelling skills improve.
"REFERENCES: I have 25 references."
Just three to five will suffice.
"REFERENCES: I have references, but they are all from out of state."
Good thing we have long-distance phone service.
