There's sure to be green mashed potatoes, green peas, green Jell-O, green pudding and/or green milk placed in front of a child this St. Patrick's Day.
Here are some other ideas to add a splash of green to your child's meal.
-- Shamrock shakes: In a blender put two cups of milk, two cups lime sherbet and two ripe bananas. Blend together and serve. Yield: 4-6 servings.
-- Shamrock sandwiches: Add green food coloring to peanut butter. Spread onto two slices of bread. Cut with shamrock-shaped cookie cutter.
-- Shamrock biscuits: Take 8-10 biscuits, tear them in half and place three pieces together to form a shamrock. Roll another half biscuit to create stem. Sprinkle biscuit liberally with green sugar crystals. Bake per package directions, or until done.
