So-called "global warming" has shrunk from problem to punch line. And now, Leftists are laughing, too. It's hard not to chuckle at the idea of Earth boiling in a carbon cauldron when the news won't cooperate:

-- January saw northern Minnesota's temperatures plunge to 38 below zero, forcing ski-resort closures. A Frazee, Minnesota dog-sled race was cancelled, due to excessive snow. Snow whitened Surf City, North Carolina's beaches. Days ago, ice glazed Florida's citrus groves.
As Earth faces global cooling, both troglodyte Right-wingers and lachrymose Left-wingers find Albert Gore's simmering-planet hypothesis increasingly hilarious:

"The so-called 'consensus' on man-made global warming is not holding up," Senator James Inhofe (R -- Oklahoma) told his colleagues January 8. "It is becoming increasingly clear that skepticism about man-made global warming fear is not a partisan left vs. right issue."
So-called "global warming" has accomplished the impossible: It has united liberals and conservatives in laughter.

Before ethonol came along, corn would lay on the ground and slowly rot because there was no market for it. I know because I saw it. The government paid farmers to not grow crops because there was no market. I know because I subsidized it.
Sadly, people will always starve because the food doesn't get to where it is needed most. If everyone actually did something to help the hungry instead of wearing it like an armband while they spewed their hypocrytic words, maybe there would be no hunger? I believe that more money is donated for animals in need, than people in need. If the money spent on TV commercials is any indication, it certainly seems true!
Personally, I find it ironic when liberals act like they care about the hungry when the next statement out of their mouth is that the world is overpopulated and we "need population control". That's what you'd call a flip-flop.

For some years we have been subject to propaganda on climate change. I'm sure this is cynical, but like the drumbeaters outside the White House under Bush 41 who dissapeared when Clinton moved in (I suppose the homeless magically dissapeared during those 8 years) and came back with Bush 43, this swill is the same.

I looked out the window and it's clear and sunny like a summer day, except it's 26 degrees farenheit (that would be minus-something Celsius.) This is the hellish global warming we've had to deal with all winter. Obviously, wanting global warming so badly that you are willing to ignore any and all evidence to the contrary means this phenomenon needs a name, and many of the global-warmists on this site seem to like calling anyone with a contrary opinion a plonker.

Global something or other
Unlike the usual definition of "skeptic" used by the All Gory crowd, I do not deny that globally the mean temperature increased circa 1964-1999.
But CO2 and AGW? According to the IPCC, the Sun - despite warming Earth from circa 2 degrees Kelvin "background" temperature to about 500 degrees - cannot be responsible for the plus-minus 2 degree variations during the last two thousand years. Why? Well, look at the founding document of the IPCC, which has driven all its research and publication for decades: it is to look ONLY at anthropogenic influences on climate. I.e., it MUST NOT CONSIDER other things. Which has led, inevitably, to seeing all change as only human influenced.
What have they seen? Well, temperatures went up and CO2 went up: conclusion is that temp was driven by CO2. Proof? Well, both increased, at least for a while.
But Correlation is not proof of Causation folks. No, it does not rain because I washed my car, even if there is an eighty percent correlation. It is, at most, something to be considered and perhaps investigated - not accepted and then fudge the data to match the pre-conception.
Heck, it was a meteorologist - Lorenz - who developed Chaos Theory when he realised his mathematical modelling of climate not only was not but could not be acceptably accurate even to establish trends, let alone specifics.
Self-centered Theory
Ah yes, the Global Warming! We're also experiencing this in northern Michigan - now into our 3rd consecutive month of coldest temps in history.
I've always considered most things in life as cyclical. How self-centered and self-important are Gore and the other Global Warming gurus to think that in the Earth's history, we are SO IMPORTANT to create such a change? After all, didn't we have glaciers covering my neck of the woods once before? And didn't it all go away? Now, I think we should all do our best to avoid polluting, but I'm not going to completely change my lifestyle for a group of people who are so hypocritical that they get rich off of their plans (carbon footprint buyoffs) and cannot seem to follow their own rules!
I'll tell you right now, we can't survive here in the winter months without an SUV, and I don't feel guilty. I'd rather stay alive on the roads with my kids. Who, by the way, always raise the counter arguement in science when global warming arises. What a terrible mother I am to go against the grain and allow my children to be indoctrinated into the anti-global warming crowd!
We keep saying up here - good thing we've got global warming, imagine how bad it'd be without it! (plenty of below zero days this year!)

Its climate change now because it happens to be winter in the northern hemisphere. Just wait until summer when, I predict it will get warm, then we'll be suffering from global warming.
What is the ideal global temperature anyway? Ok, so the climate is changing as opposed to what, remaining static? The land, air, and water on this planet not to mention the planet itself is in constant motion yet the climate is supposed to stay the same? And, I have yet to hear an explanation as to what caused past climate changes where it was much warmer than now and also much colder long before humans were around.

I've figured it out! There is warming and cooling!
In north America, I've noticed signs of warming in March, April, May, June, July, and August for over thirty years! I've also observed cooling trends in September, October, November, December, January, and February for that same amount of time!
Furthermore, my parents have noticed these same trends throughout there lives! This is an incredible discovery but wait! There is more still! My grandparents, great grandparents, and my great-great grandmother (born in the 1870's and which I had the great privilege of knowing) have seen the same too!

I don't agree with your stats, but your point is clear and accurate. I grew up in NYC and lived through the most racist Mayoral Administration in the city's history - the David Dinkins' administration. He was the black mayor who made the phrase "Black Rage" popular when describing the Black-on-Jew, Black-on-Korean, Black-on-Anything crime wave during his reign. Every crime that Blacks commited then was always excusable, be it the Central Park jogger, beating and killing of (Hasidic) Jews, etc, etc. I was mugged three times while I lived in NYC...all by Black Men.

Credits can be exchanged between businesses or bought and sold in international markets at the prevailing market price. Credits can be used to finance carbon reduction schemes between trading partners and around the world.
