Making spaghetti squash

Q: How do I make spaghetti squash? -- Tara Grimes, Lexington, Ky.A: Spaghetti squash gets its name from the fall-apart stringy texture of the flesh when cooked (raw, it looks like any other squash). To cook it, split it in half and remove the seeds. Then, you can either roast it, boil it or microwave it. We like roasting -- for about 40 minutes at 375 degrees -- for the nutty flavors it brings out. Then, use a fork to remove the flesh; it'll break apart into spaghettilike strands. You can treat it like spaghetti (and serve it with a tomato-based sauce) or like squash (sauteed with, for example, bacon, onions and sage).(For more information, visit www.foodnetwork.com or write Ask Food Network c/o Viewer Services Culinary Department, Scripps Networks, PO Box 50970, Knoxville, TN 37950.)
