Week 12 NFL Capsules

Capsule previews for Week 12 around the NFL. All times Eastern

SUNDAY:

Philadelphia Eagles (5-4-1) at Baltimore Ravens (6-4), 1 p.m.

Donovan McNabb doesn't have to worry about this one ending in a tie. He might have to worry more about this one not ending in a shutout, especially against John Harbaugh, a former Eagles assistant.

PREDICTION: Ravens, 17-6

Houston Texans (3-7) at Cleveland Browns (4-6), 1.

The Browns appear to have the recipe down pat -- build a 13-point lead and fritter away the advantage at the end, something they've done the past three games. They can thank kicker Phil Dawson for bailing them out in Buffalo with that 56-yard FG.

PREDICTION: Browns, 27-23

San Francisco 49ers (3-7) at Dallas Cowboys (6-4), 1.

All seems right now, doesn't it, with Tony Romo back at quarterback? Well, watch out for the 49ers who have scored 59 points the past two games and make more big plays than Nora Ephron.

PREDICTION: Cowboys, 34-30

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-3) at Detroit Lions (0-10), 1.

The bad news for Jon Gruden is he keeps losing running backs. The good news is the Buccaneers keep winning games. And, of yeah, they get to play the Lions, who are starting to feel like the Thanksgiving turkey.

PREDICTION: Buccaneers, 20-13

Minnesota Vikings (5-5) at Jacksonville Jaguars (4-6), 1.

Looks like Jack Del Rio might have to re-arrange the seating chart in the locker room again. Or make the players clean erasers after practice. Or have them write 100 times, "I won't lose at home again."

PREDICTION: Jaguars, 23-21

Buffalo Bills (5-5) at Kansas City Chiefs (1-9), 1.

The only thing colder than the Bills, who once were 4-0, is the wind-chill in Buffalo. It's starting to affect the person who called the plays late to "set up" Rian Lindell for a mere 47-yard field goal against the Browns, which he missed.

PREDICTION: Chiefs, 24-20

New England Patriots (6-4) at Miami Dolphins (6-4), 1.

The Patriots could stop the Wildcat offense or Joey Porter in the first meeting, a 38-13 defeat in New England. Porter and the Dolphins, who have won four in a row, are still rolling.

PREDICTION: Dolphins, 30-23

Chicago Bears (5-5) at St. Louis Rams (2-8), 1.

It appears someone forgot to tell the Rams about turning back the clocks. In their past two games, they have been outscored in the first half, 75-3. They have given up 31 or more points in eight games this season.

PREDICTION: Bears, 23-15

New York Jets (7-3) at Tennessee Titans (10-0), 1.

Only two teams have won more consecutive games than the Jets -- Tennessee and the Giants. One of those streaks will end in Nashville, where the only thing hotter than the Titans is Shania Twain.

PREDICTION: Titans, 23-14

Oakland Raiders (2-8) at Denver Broncos (6-4), 4:05.

Even though they are out of running backs, the Broncos put a little kick back in their gait with back-to-back road wins in Cleveland and Atlanta. They have always managed to corral the Raiders, winning nine of the past 11.

PREDICTION: Broncos, 24-10

New York Giants (9-1) at Arizona Cardinals (7-3), 4:15.

The Giants have won five in a row and average an NFC-best 29.2 points. The Cardinals have won three in a row, average 28.9 points (second best in the NFC) and are 4-0 at home.

PREDICTION: Cardinals, 30-28

Carolina Panthers (8-2) at Atlanta Falcons (6-4), 4:15.

The Falcons were unbeaten at home until the Broncos blemished their record last week. The Panthers have won four in a row and held the Falcons to three field goals in the first meeting this season.

PREDICTION: Panthers, 24-23

Washington Redskins (6-4) at Seattle Seahawks (2-8), 4:15.

Here's the rub: The Redskins have won the past four meetings during the regular season, but the Seahawks have won the past two meetings in the playoffs (2005, 2007). There will be no postseason for Seattle.

PREDICTION: Redskins, 17-14

Indianapolis Colts (6-4) at San Diego Chargers (4-6), 8:15.

That giddy-up you hear is the Colts, who have won three in a row, galloping back into the wild-card playoff picture. They are the only AFC team to beat the Chargers at home (14-1) since 2006.

PREDICTION: Colts, 33-31

MONDAY NIGHT:

Green Bay Packers (5-5) at New Orleans Saints (5-5), 8:30 p.m.

No team in the NFC North has a winning record on the road. Then again, no team in the NFC North has a winning record, period. They only seem to be able to beat each other.

PREDICTION: Saints, 38-37
