Week 11 NFL Capsules

NFL Week 11 capsule previews. All times Eastern.SUNDAY:Baltimore Ravens (6-3) at New York Giants (8-1), 1 p.m.The Ravens haven't beaten a team with a winning record. Not only do they have five '07 playoff teams in their final seven games, this is the first of four against the NFC East.PREDICTION: Giants, 23-16Denver Broncos (5-4) at Atlanta Falcons (6-3), 1.Too bad Disney already has the rights to the movie title, "Invincible." That's what the Falcons and QB Matt Ryan are when they play in the Georgia Dome (4-0).PREDICTION: Falcons, 34-24Detroit Lions (0-9) at Carolina Panthers (7-2), 1.It's not getting any easier for the winless Lions, even with a new quarterback, Daunte Culpepper. The Panthers have won three in a row and are unbeaten at home (5-0).PREDICTION: Panthers, 31-7Philadelphia Eagles (5-4) at Cincinnati Bengals (1-8), 1.Maybe the Bengals deserved a rest after finally ending their winless streak. The Eagles don't deserve one after having their three-game winning streak ended by the Giants.PREDICTION: Eagles, 30-20Chicago Bears (5-4) at Green Bay Packers (4-5), 1.Never fear, Green Bay fans. Two-game losing streaks, such as the one the Packers are riding, don't mean a lot in the NFC North. Now, losing five of the past six to the Bears, that could mean something.PREDICTION: Packers, 24-19Houston Texans (3-6) at Indianapolis Colts (5-4), 1. Just because the Colts have won back-to-back games doesn't mean they have turned around their season. But, because they beat the Patriots and Steelers, it might be a good indication.PREDICTION: Colts, 34-21New Orleans Saints (4-5) at Kansas City Chiefs (1-8), 1.Meet one of the NFL's new bright lights, Chiefs QB Tyler Thigpen. He throws touchdowns, he catches them and he has pumped some life, however minimal, into KC.PREDICTION: Chiefs, 30-28.Oakland Raiders (2-7) at Miami Dolphins (5-4), 1.The Dolphins are definitely swimming downstream, winning three in a row and looking like a team that can win the AFC East. Joey Porter (NFL-best 12 sacks) should give the Raiders the boot.PREDICTION: Dolphins, 23-9.Minnesota Vikings (5-4) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-3), 1.This will be a good indicator for the Vikings, who have won four in a row. It will also be a good test for the Tampa Bay defense: Can the Bucs stop Adrian Peterson, who put 192 rushing last week.PREDICTION: Buccaneers, 20-16St. Louis Rams (2-7) at San Francisco 49ers (2-7), 4:05. Embarrassing isn't a strong enough word to describe the Rams' first-half performance against the Jets, when they trailed 40-0 at halftime. Confusing is a good word for what happened in the final seconds to the 49ers in Arizona.PREDICTION: 49ers, 27-24Arizona Cardinals (6-3) at Seattle Seahawks (2-7) 4:05.The Cardinals are tied with Tennessee for having the biggest division lead (four games) with seven games remaining. They would have to melt like cheese in the desert to not make the playoffs.PREDICTION: Cardinals 30-24San Diego Chargers (4-5) at Steelers (6-3), 4:15.The Chargers have never won a regular-season game in Pittsburgh (0-12). Then, again, the Colts hadn't won a game in Pittsburgh in 40 years ... until last week.PREDICTION: Steelers, 23-20Tennessee Titans (9-0) at Jacksonville Jaguars (4-5), 4:15. The Titans opened the season with a victory against the Jaguars and they haven't looked back. Right now, they don't even have to look over their shoulder at Indianapolis.PREDICTION: Titans, 17-16Dallas Cowboys (5-4) at Washington Redskins (6-3), 8:15 p.m.Tony Romo is scheduled to return for the Cowboys, making it the most anticipated Dallas return since J.R. Ewing came back to Southfork in 1996. Like J.R., the Cowboys are perceived to be dead.PREDICTION: Redskins, 28-24MONDAY NIGHT:Cleveland Browns (3-6) at Buffalo Bills (5-4), 8:30 p.m.Was there ever a more pathetic display of football than the manner in which the Browns blew a 13-point lead against Denver? Unfortunately, it's on national display again.PREDICTION: Bills, 24-15(Distributed by Scripps Howard News Service, www.scrippsnews.com.)
