But unorthodox NFL wisdom dictates it might be time for them to lose.PREDICTION: Bears, 16-14.Jacksonville Jaguars (3-5) at Detroit Lions (0-8), 1.The Jaguars have played only one other time in Detroit, and that was in 1995, a 44-0 defeat. They face the embarrassing possibility of losing back-to-back games against 0-8 teams.PREDICTION: Jaguars, 24-17Baltimore Ravens (5-3) at Houston Texans (3-5), 1.The Ravens keeping hanging around, winning three in a row and getting some extra juice from their comeback victory in Cleveland. They will end the Texans' three-game home win streak.PREDICTION: Ravens, 23-20Seattle Seahawks (2-6) at Miami Dolphins (4-4), 1.The Seadogs are 0-3 and have been outscored, 98-26, in games in the Eastern-time zone. And no NFL team is farther from Seattle than Miami, just a scant 2,734 miles away.PREDICTION: Dolphins, 30-9Green Bay Packers (4-4) at Minnesota Vikings (4-4), 1.The Pack had to contend with a two-headed monster -- Chris Johnson and LenDale White -- last week. Today, it's a one-man show: Adrian Peterson. Green Bay has won the past five meetings.PREDICTION: Packers, 24-23Buffalo Bills (5-3) at New England Patriots (5-3), 1.The Bills are headed in the wrong direction after a 4-0 start, losing three of their past four. It might not get better against the Patriots, who have won the past 10 meetings.PREDICTION: Patriots, 24-17St. Louis Rams (2-6) at New York Jets (5-3), 1.The fire lit by new coach Jim Haslett is beginning to flicker with the Rams, who have lost two in a row. Look out for the Jets, who have won four of their past five starts.PREDICTION: Jets, 30-17Carolina Panthers (6-2) at Oakland Raiders (2-6), 4:05.If the Raiders were shut out at home against the Falcons, what are they going to do against Carolina? Every time the Panthers have started 7-2, they end up at least in the NFC title game.PREDICTION: Panthers, 27-9Indianapolis Colts (4-4) at Pittsburgh Steelers (6-2), 4:15.This is the first meeting since Pittsburgh's upset in the 2005 AFC playoff game in the RCA Dome. If Peyton Manning thought Joey Porter was bothersome, wait till he sees James Harrison and LaMarr Woodley.PREDICTION: Steelers, 27-17Kansas City Chiefs (1-7) at San Diego Chargers (3-5), 4:15.The Chargers had the early-season handle on last-second defeats. Now it's the Chiefs, who have blown leads in the past two games that produced heart-breaking defeats.PREDICTION: Chargers, 34-17New York Giants (7-1) at Philadelphia Eagles (5-3), 8:15.The Giants are the league's best road team, winning 13 of their past 14. And they have won five of the past six against the Eagles. But, like the Giants, the Eagles have won three in a row.PREDICTION: Eagles, 27-24MONDAY NIGHT:San Francisco 49ers (2-6) at Arizona Cardinals (5-3), 8:30 p.m.Mike Singletary needed the off week to cool down from his post-game tirade. The Cardinals missed the playoffs last season because they were 0-2 against the 49ers. Not this time.PREDICTION: Cardinals, 34-12(Distributed by Scripps Howard News Service, www.scrippsnews.com.)
