Capsule preview for Thursday night's college football action. All times Eastern and all rankings Associated Press.No. 24 SOUTH FLORIDA (6-2) at CINCINNATI (5-2), 7:30 p.m., ESPN.FAVORITE: South Florida by 2-1/2.COACHES: Jim Leavitt (83-49 in 12th year at South Florida) and Brian Kelly (16-5 in second year at Cincinnati).LAST WEEK: South Florida lost at Louisville, 24-20. Cincinnati lost at Connecticut, 40-16.SERIES HISTORY: Cincinnati leads, 3-2.LAST MEETING: Cincinnati won, 38-33, last year.STAT THAT MATTERS: Since starting last year 6-0 and reaching No. 2 spot in polls, Bulls are just 9-6 while giving up 33 points per game in the losses.GAME FACTS: Already mired in seventh in Big East thanks to losses to Pitt and Louisville, another defeat here pretty much eliminates preseason favorite Bulls from league title race. Last week, 14 penalties were killers while running game (8 yards on 24 carries) was pretty much nonexistent. That left it up to QB Matt Grothe, who nearly pulled it off with 30-of-40, 344-yard effort that included 2 TD passes. But pair of ints. hurt including decisive one with 3:03 left. After leading Big East with 14-1/2 sacks last year, DE George Selvie is getting a lot more attention and has just five after getting two last week. Bearcats were outscored 20-0 in final quarter last week. QB Tony Pike made it back to start after missing two games with arm injury but was only 10-of-27 for 136 yards with a TD and int. Freshman Chaz Anderson then relieved in second half and promptly threw int. that was returned for TD. Pike said he lost feeling in his left hand so who starts here is anybody's guess. Uncertainty is starting to wear on offense that has produced only 625 yards and 29 points in last two games. WR Marshwan Gilyard (39 catches, 6 TDs) is second in Big East with 1,104 all-purpose yards.(Distributed by Scripps Howard News Service, http://www.scrippsnews.com)

Paying taxes unites us. It also divides us. People can pay five and even six times more in state and local taxes than other folks in similar circumstances making similar incomes.
