Top-ranked Texas and quarterback Colt McCoy survived a close call Saturday, edging Oklahoma State 28-24. But McCoy had no such problems in this week's Scripps Howard News Service Heisman Trophy poll: He swept all 10 first-place votes for the second straight week.Keeping up his amazing run of accuracy, McCoy completed 38-of-45 passes for 391 yards and two touchdowns (with one interception) while running for another as the Longhorns improved to 8-0. In his past three games, the junior has completed 84 percent of his passes (95-of-112) for 1,014 yards with five touchdowns and ran for three more TDs. And the three teams Texas defeated (Oklahoma, Missouri and Oklahoma State) were ranked No. 1, No. 11 and No. 7, respectively, heading into their games with the Longhorns. For the second straight week, Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford was second. Texas Tech counterpart Graham Harrell moved up two spots to third from a tie for fifth last week after throwing five TD passes in a rout of Kansas. Last year's Heisman winner, Florida QB Tim Tebow, fell one spot to fourth.Compiled by the Rocky Mountain News in Denver, the Scripps poll is in its 22nd year, making it the longest-running weekly Heisman ranking in the country. The final poll, taken in December, has predicted the Heisman winner correctly in 18 of the previous 21 seasons. Ten voters select five players each week. The tabulations are made on a 5-4-3-2-1 basis, with five points for a first-place vote, four points for second, etc. First-place votes are in parentheses. This week's poll, with statistics from last week:Player, Position, School, Last Week, Points.1.
