Capsule previews for Week 8 NFL action. All times Eastern.SUNDAY:San Diego Chargers (3-4) at New Orleans Saints (3-4), in London, 1 p.m.Thought the Chargers had jet lag playing in Buffalo? Speaking of air travel, Drew Brees has passed for more yards than any other QB since leaving San Diego.PREDICTION: Chargers, 37-30Oakland Raiders (2-4) at Baltimore Ravens (3-3), 1.Each team ended a three-game losing streak with a surprising victory. But, for the Ravens, they managed to stay within shouting distance of the Steelers by beating Miami.PREDICTION: Ravens, 20-9Arizona Cardinals (4-2) at Carolina Panthers (5-2), 1.The Cardinals had a bye week after posting back-to-back home victories against Buffalo and Dallas. But they are 1-2 on the road and the Panthers are unbeaten at home (4-0).PREDICTION: Panthers, 31-27Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-2) at Dallas Cowboys (4-3), 1.Tony Romo's replacement, Brad Johnson, led Tampa Bay to a Super Bowl victory in 2002 season. Right now, he would settle for a victory to settle the reeling Cowboys.PREDICTION: Cowboys, 21-20Washington Redskins (5-2) at Detroit Lions (0-6), 1.The winless Lions are getting closer to that first victory, having lost their past two by a combined nine points after losing their first four by 81. All that means, though, is added frustration.PREDICTION: Redskins, 23-17Buffalo Bills (5-1) at Miami Dolphins (2-4), 1.The Dolphins and their Wildcat offense have lost some of their growl with consecutive losses. It may get worse against the Bills, who have won seven of the past eight meetings.PREDICTION: Bills, 24-20St. Louis Rams (2-4) at New England Patriots (4-2), 1.Which team is more resurgent: The Rams, with back-to-back victories under new coach Jim Haslett; or the Patriots, who looked like their old self with 41-7 victory against Denver?PREDICTION: Patriots, 31-17Kansas City Chiefs (1-5) at New York Jets (3-3), 1.The Chiefs are the lowest-scoring team in the NFL and have managed just 10 points in their past two games. They are especially inept on the road, scoring just 24 points in three losses.PREDICTION: Jets, 21-11Atlanta Falcons (4-2) at Philadelphia Eagles (3-3), 1.Some bye weeks are better than others. The Falcons probably wish they could have kept playing after needing only seven seconds to come back and beat the Bears.PREDICTION: Eagles, 38-31Cincinnati Bengals (0-7) at Houston Texans (2-4), 4:05 p.m.The Texans, and their offense, are coming to life. Not only have they won two in a row, they are averaging 27.8 points in the past four games. The Bengals have never lost to Houston (3-0).PREDICTION: Texans, 24-20Cleveland Browns (2-4) at Jacksonville Jaguars (3-3), 4:05.This is already the fifth game against a 2007 playoff team for the Browns. The only thing tougher has been Kellen Winslow Jr.'s comments about Phil Savage.PREDICTION: Jaguars, 23-20New York Giants (5-1) at Steelers (5-1), 4:15.Teams with similar records, similar philosophies and Super Bowl-winning QBs from the same draft class. This could be better than the season premier of "CSI.''PREDICTION: Steelers, 24-20Seattle Seahawks (1-5) at San Francisco 49ers (2-5), 4:15.You think Mike Nolan's firing was hastened when the 49ers saw what happened when Scott Linehan was fired in St. Louis? The 49ers might get the same result, especially against the Seadogs.PREDICTION: 49ers, 31-16MONDAY NIGHT:Indianapolis Colts (3-3) at Tennessee Titans (6-0), 8:30 p.m.The Colts give up an average of 153 yards rushing per game. Question is, which one of the Titans' backs will top it first -- Chris Johnson or LenDale White?PREDICTION: Titans, 30-17(Distributed by Scripps Howard News Service, www.scrippsnews.com.)
