Rapidly approaching perfection with his play on the field, Texas quarterback Colt McCoy swept all 10 first-place votes this week in the Scripps Howard News Service Heisman Trophy poll.The junior completed an amazing 29-of-32 passes for 337 yards and two touchdowns as No. 1 Texas routed Missouri 56-31 on Saturday night. For good measure, McCoy also ran for two touchdowns, bringing to six his total of rushing TDs, second on the Longhorns this season. In the Longhorns' past two wins, against then-No. 1 Oklahoma and No. 10 Missouri, McCoy is a combined 57-for-67 for 614 yards and is completing a national-best 81.2 percent of his passes with 19 TDs with only three interceptions.Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford was almost a unanimous choice for second in the balloting, garnering nine of 10 second-place votes. Defending Heisman champ Tim Tebow of Florida is third, with Oklahoma State receiver Dez Bryant breaking into the top five at fourth. Missouri QB Chase Daniel is fifth.Compiled by the Rocky Mountain News in Denver, the poll is in its 22nd year, making it the longest-running weekly Heisman ranking in the country. The final poll, taken in December, has predicted the Heisman winner correctly in 18 of the previous 21 seasons. Ten voters select five players each week.
