Missouri's Chase Daniel maintained the top spot in the Scripps Howard News Service weekly Heisman Trophy poll, but a fellow Big 12 Conference quarterback, Oklahoma's Sam Bradford, cut the lead from 15 points to seven. Florida quarterback Tim Tebow, last year's Heisman winner, and Southern Cal QB Mark Sanchez dropped out of the top five after their teams were upset last week.Compiled by the Rocky Mountain News in Denver, the Scripps Poll is in its 22nd year, making it the longest-running weekly Heisman Trophy ranking in the country. The final poll taken in December correctly has predicted the Heisman winner in 18 of the previous 21 seasons. Ten voters select five players each week.
