Capsule preview of Wednesday night's Kansas State-Louisville game.KANSAS STATE (2-0) at LOUISVILLE (1-1), 8 p.m. (Eastern), ESPN2.FAVORITE: Kansas State by 4.COACHES: Ron Prince (14-13 in third year at K-State) and Steve Kragthorpe (7-7 in second year at Louisville).LAST GAME: Kansas State beat Montana State, 69-10, on Sept. 6. Louisville beat Tennessee Tech, 51-10, on Sept. 6.SERIES HISTORY: Louisville leads, 1-0.LAST MEETING: Louisville won, 24-6, in 2006.STAT THAT MATTERS: Since opening last year 2-0, Cardinals are 4-7 vs. D-I opponents while giving up 32 points per game.GAME FACTS: Wildcats haven't exactly been road warriors lately (2-12 in away games since October, 2005) so this will be interesting test of exactly where Prince has the program. QB Josh Freeman (34-of-45, 520 yards passing, 5 TDs, 4 TD runs) has thrived in wins over patsies Montana State, North Texas by combined 114-16. CB Courtney Herndon earned Big 12 co-defensive player of the week honor vs. Montana St. with blocked punt, int., 43-yard fumble return for TD. RB Leon Patton, last year's leading rusher, remains suspended. Defense absolutely fell apart at end of last year (gave up 198 points in final four losses) so UL will gauge exactly how much progress KSU has made. After miserable, 3-int. showing in 27-2 season-opening loss to Kentucky Aug. 31, Cards QB Hunter Cantwell bounced back vs. Tenn. Tech going 15-of-23, for 202 yards, 2 TDs. With C Eric Wood (knee) and T George Bussey (ankle) questionable, protection might be a problem. After suffering 5 turnovers in opener, Cards lost two more fumbles and can't keep that trend up. New defensive coordinator Ron English (formerly of Michigan) has helped oft-criticized unit improve (fourth in nation in total defense, 193 ypg).(Distributed by Scripps Howard News Service, http://www.scrippsnews.com)

Paying taxes unites us. It also divides us. People can pay five and even six times more in state and local taxes than other folks in similar circumstances making similar incomes.
