Obama only talks good game on gender pay equity

This article continues the daily examples of the Nobama Ones blatant arrogance with regard to almost all issues. The better we know Barry, the less there is to see or like. The DUmmies and Kosbrats can only respond with vulgar smears and referrences to bodily functions. What happened to all the good competition? Now all we have is punks on keyboards spewing all the filth they learned in the stalls at the metro-plex where mommy dropped them off to watch cartoons.........pitiful pukes.

How can these politicians, keep lying to gain votes, and the next day, say something else?

Do they think we are so stupid, you know, the ones of us in the "fly over country"...that we don't hear how inconsistant they are?

I believe the phrase is "equal pay for equal WORK" - comparing entire payrolls tells us nothing about pay disparity for doing equivalent work or having equivalent responsibilities.

That fact, alone, invalidates the entire "analysis" and all the conclusions. It might raise a completely separate issue, but this says NOTHING, whatsoever about Obama's practices regarding equal pay for equal work.

He's vain, and sensitive to any criticism. When you have those as your qualities, you can be sure that he WILL NOT look out for the best interest of this nation if other leaders criticizes him. He will give in to them whom he looks up to. He'll render this country as his stepping stool and trash to gain favor and stature as a "citizen of the world." What a complete waste. Remember: you can always tell what sort of person he is based on the people he associates with, the things he says (i.e. Berlin), and the way he conducts his business (i.e. payroll of his employees).

I'm voting for Obama because frankly yes I see reality and reality has a natural liberal bias. Both Mccain and Obama have negatives but here’s a key thing. Obama will answer you if you question him. When Mccain was heckled at the RNC he said “Just ignore the noise”. When a man stood up and interrupted Obama at a smaller occasion Obama stopped talking and had a microphone handed to him. I look at our country and see a downward trend in the economy human rights and overall country quality of life. In every other country a leader is held accountable. Basically I’m glad someone who is actually willing to listen and take criticism is running for president.
Town meetings with Tony Blair were thrilling because he had to sit there and answer to everybody(reporter, Citzen or even government opponent). Meanwhile Bush only had closed meetings with his select fans(one occasion a few months ago someone finally was able to voice their concerns to him publically and they were hissed by the crowd for even suggesting that Bush has made mistakes. I see Mccain using the same cold tactics that made me dislike the bush administration I see no point in supporting a administration who’s willing to ignore opposition.
The issue brought up in this article can be answered by Obama in many ways. I personally see someone noticing that there are less women working for Obama and that’s somehow a symptom of sexism despite Obama’s voting record in the senate showing that he supports Women’s rights a lot more than Mccain.

Reagan was and is disliked by feminist groups, who love leftists like Teddy Kennedy (of "waitress sandwich" fame). Yet Reagan put the first woman on the US supreme court. What could be a more powerful affirmation of women's abilities? Maybe a UN ambassadorship? He also appointed the first woman to serve as US ambassador to the United Nations. Even our first woman astronaut occurred under Reagan. ("Ride, Sally Ride")

Same thing applies to race. Colin Powell (first black secretary of state) was almost drafted as a Republican presidential pick, until he declined (as were Jeanne Kirkpatrick and Condi Rice, btw) He served as National Security Advisor and Sec. State, as did Condi. Clarence Thomas, Alberto Gonzales (first Hispanic Atty. General), etc.

I've always thought the first black president and the first woman president would be Republican, because Republicans promote for merit (a true expression of respect) rather than affirmative action (a condescending lack of respect.

Blacks have forgotten that is was Republicans that Freed them out of Bondage, Passed the Civil Rights-Voter Rights Appenments. That is was the Democrates that passed Jim Crowe were fouded by Confederate Officers and created the victim mentality they believe.

I'm not surprised that Obama pays his female staffers less than the male staffers, he's a typical democrat Elitist. I basically disagree with the Equal pay for an equal days work because it doesn't compare the same jobs, it compares truck drivers to cashiers. More women are cashiers and they don't deserve what truck drivers make. Any idiot can be a cashier but it takes skill and hard work to be a truck driver. Obama on the other hand should be paying his staffers the same because they all do the same job. Obama is a liar through and through.

McCain on the other hand pays his staffers according to skill and tenure what takes sex out of the equation, which is how it should be.

the article says itself, the discrepancies are from the positions held, you can't make comparisons like that, apples to oranges. It would be worth mentioning that McCain employs more high power women, but these averages are no way to find out about equal pay for equal WORK, when the work is NOT equal.

Being truly blind to sex and not being sexist means hiring the best PERSON for a job. Is it obamas fault that the people he saw best fit and chose to help him win the presidency are men? sounds like you are all mostly sexist if it matters at all what the hiring %'s are.

Really? The desire of equal pay for equal work means all cashiers will make the same, male or female, when hired and get the same raises as they climb the ladder.
The same is true for truck drivers. All of them at any one company would be hired and promoted at the same pay levels as the men they work with. I don't know why you think it would turn all jobs into being payed equally.

This article says that both McCain and Obama pay their upper level staffers, the "truck drivers" with tenure of their campaigns more, McCain just hired more women. I don't understand how in your view everyone working for Obama does the same job but McCain somehow runs a different sort of campaign.

I'm sick and tired of all of you jumping on Obama about this 57 states in our country thing. If any of you had any sense at all, you would realize he was referring to the 57 states of the Islamic confederation. Sheeeesch. Can't you get it right???

Yet another example of how sadly lacking math skills are in this country. The averages in this article are meaningless and miss the point. All us women are looking for is to be paid the same as a man who's doing the EXACT SAME WORK. So if this article is amended to compare only the salaries of male and female top-level aides, or just male and female low-level aides, then it will be worth reading and discussing.

First of all, the totals given in this article add up to $2,877,700.
This is supposed to be double the expenditures of all staff.
If this were correct, which it is not, that would mean that the half year expenditures should be $1,438,850. The actual half year expenditures which are on this website are $1,287,614.31 (excluding the two male interns)

There is an extra $151,235.69 that isn't accounted for.

Second, they are using an average instead of a median. When you have skewed data like this you should use the median. Since the totals are bogus in the first place, this average is bogus and we'll have to calculate the "ACTUAL" numbers. Also, since this way of calculating is bogus and the only disclaimer this article gives is:

"For someone who worked only until, say, last February 29, extrapolating up to six months' service simplifies this analysis."

And the actual disclaimer on the website is:

Anyway, on to the actual data.
I've been trying to figure out this error they've made while typing this and I found where they calculated this data and found where that extra money that doesn't exist came from.

They actually didn't double all the salaries. They are making it a 182 days worked calculation on data that is not 182 days worked based. It includes bonuses and may not include other things which might be relevant. Sorry, but this "statistic" is total garbage. I'll try to come up with an accurate number for people to actually look at instead of this misleading junk.

Politicians are always extremely lying people, whose words would be different every day, depending on their own interests. I stopped considering them as personalities.

In fact, McCain pays his female employees more than 50% more than his mail employees ($1,396,958 to $916,914) while Obama pays his female employees only 89% of what the men make ($1,354,580 to $1,523,120).

Oh, wait a second. You mean those statistics are completely bogus!? Darn I knew I should have studied harder in college.

Come on, Deroy. Do the real analysis: compare pay for the same job to the same job. Let the facts stand for themselves.
