I do indeed side with the repubs, but, this year, I can't vote because I live on Guam, which is a poorly governed and represented territory/protectorate of the states.
As for your remark about the repubs screwing the economy... The Congress determines policy and the president merely approves it, often because he (or she, someday) has to. They're the regulating body, not the president. Therefore, it is the repubs who are responsible for the success of the Clinton era and the dems that allowed the economy to take a massive crap. Get your facts straight and get some intelligents[sic] in your brain. If the president directs his parties congress peoples to write the letter A on a bill, but his party is the minority, the congress as a whole can still send him a bill with the letter X to sign. Due to the fact that our congress works about 8 weeks a year, they build so much crap into almost every bill that there's really no room for a president not to sign somethign. That is unless you're Bill Clinton and invent an unconstitutional doctrine of Line-Item Vetoes.

Actually, I can reasonably infer a number of things from Carmen's post. Anyone whom writes in all caps, votes on looks, can't put together a properly structured sentence, doesn't know how to use a semicolon or the word "and", etc., is also someone who is either very lazy or he/she lacks the very susbstance that adds up to one's intelligence. I will say in his or her defence that it's clear that he/she can spell and write at a 5th or 6th grade level, so he/she isn't stupid. That's all I'll say, though.

Palin may appeal to women for a variety of different reasons. Those same women should consider everything. What will Palin do with Roe vs Wade? In reply to the comment about Sarah Palin's PTA experience, I believe it is meant as a comparison to Obama's community organizer experience, not as an indication of her qualification to be VP. Her experiences as Mayor, and now as Governor, are more appropriate for that position.

As a Republican I really don't feel these last 8 years have been up to were should have been. I feel with must of the nation, we have let down in the in house issues. I feel more could've been done to bring the country at least to par in issues like health, housing, insurance and plenty other little that affect us. I have always seen Senator McCain as one who laudly opose or favors issues in the senate and not afraid of how popular he might be at the moment. He was not my selection on the RPN primaries, I was not going to vote on this elections, but after watching and listening this week and learning more about the values that as a private person and politician he lives by and stands for, it really made me change my mind.
By bringing Sarah Paling to the tiket I feel is a plus. An outsider from the Washington political style, made herself to were she is today and has fought hard in her jobs to bring fairnes to her people, to were large state but lesser amount of people really does not matter. The important thing is, she has done the job she was elected for and that is the type of caracter that we need. That is different than voting "Y" or "N" on issues in the senate.
Just because they belong to the republican party, which has hel the office for the last 8 years is not a reason to not give them the chance. On the other hand both one of the two Senators, Mr.Biden have been in a life long in the senate and try to run for president candidate twice, but his own party voters have selected other candidates, what making so grate now... Senator Obama has very good ideas and have surrounded himself of lots of good people, but were is his record. What has he started carried and finish. Just because you vote Y or N on the senate does not qualify you for anything. As a Senator that is their Job to pass or hold the issues at hand.

You have to appreciate living in the US, don't you? Regardless of how screwed up ones morals are, or how little they understand the political process, or how smart or foolish they are, they're allowed a say in choosing the people who will lead our Nation.
We need a president that doesn't whip out his tit every time a group approaches him looking for a handout. Socialist welfare is going to be downfall of our great nation. I have no question of it.
We also need a president that will implement an across-the board tax bracket that applies to all citizens and corporations. Put in your income, multiply times a fraction, and pay the resulting amount of tax. No write-offs for buying Hummers, no write-offs for crapping out kid after kid, no more pork...
