Vaccine polll highlights
Submitted by SHNS on Wed, 08/27/2008 - 15:43.
The following are selected findings from a survey of 811 adults conducted by the Scripps Survey Research Center of Ohio University by telephone Sept. 24 to Oct. 10, 2007.
Here are a few questions about vaccinations that children get to protect them from diseases like polio, mumps and measles. Most states require kids to receive up to 10 different vaccinations by the time they are five years old. Some parents and researchers say vaccines have side effects that may lead to autism, asthma, diabetes, attention deficit disorder and other medical problems. Have you heard about these concerns?
Yes, have heard ............... 66
No, have not heard ............ 33
Don't Know/Other Response ...... 1
Most U.S. health officials urge that children be vaccinated to protect them and to prevent the spread of disease. More than 1 million children die of measles outside the U.S. every year. Generally speaking, do you think the benefits of immunizations outweigh the risks or do you have questions about the risks of immunization?
Benefits outweigh risks ....... 71
Have Questions about risks .... 19
Don't Know/Other Response ..... 10
Most states allow children to be exempt from vaccinations if their parents object for religious reasons. Many states also allow exemptions if parents are philosophically opposed to the vaccinations. Should parents be allowed to exempt their children for philosophical reasons?
Yes ........................... 56
No ............................ 33
Don't Know/Other Response ..... 11
There are still outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases like measles and mumps in this country. Unvaccinated children are eight times more likely to get measles than those who've gotten the full series of shots. About 77 percent of children have received all recommended shots by the time they are three years old. Is this a very serious public health concern, or not.
Very Serious Concern .......... 66
Not Very Serious Concern ...... 26
Don't Know/Other Response ...... 8
Would you recommend that all children in your family get all recommended vaccinations, or would you want your family to ask lots of questions before proceeding with vaccinations?
Get all vaccinations .......... 56
Ask Lots of Questions First ... 38
Don't Know/Other Response ...... 6

Why didn't they just come
Why didn't they just come out and ask what they are really getting at:
Is it okay to supersede an individual's rights for those of the "states"?
As the parent of two vaccine
As the parent of two vaccine injured children, I feel I was too trusting when I got my kids immunized. If I had to do it over again, I would skip certain vaccines entirely, wait until my child was two years old before administering any vaccines, and never have them receive more than one at a time. I feel this is a choice that belongs to the parent and no one else. Too many children have been sacrificed for the "greater good," and look where we are now. Our highly vaccinated children are the sickest in history, with a huge rise in autism, ADHD, asthma, and various other auto-immune disorders. No one helps me foot the bill for treating my vaccine-injured children (most of the treatments that work are not covered by my insurance, so why do I pay such high premiums for no coverage?!). Our government needs to do the safety studies to identify children at risk, if they are mandating vaccines for every child. Our current vaccine policy is absolutely criminal. I'm still waiting for the study that looks at never-vaccinated children vs fully vaccinated children, yet the government refuses to compare those groups. I think I know why! No more vaccines for my kids until that study is finally done.
As someone who has been in
As someone who has been in the medical profession for over twenty years, six years ago I started my own independent research on vaccines. My conclusion: They, by far, cause more harm than good, but you will never hear the truth as long as the pharmaceutical industry maintains the wealth, power and control that they currently have over our government, mainstream media and collective American minds (fear). The questions in the survey were loaded with psychologically persuasive comments (example: "The majority of average Americans feel that olive is an offensive shade of color. Do you prefer olive or moss?"). There is actually little to no truth behind the "facts" and "statistics" used in the prefaces of those loaded questions, leaving little room for people to answer any other way than the one being looked for by those who wrote the survey. Virtually no one would ask for the proof of, or source of, the statistics. Those of us who know the truth about vaccines know that statistics can be, and routinely are, bought and paid for all the time by wealthy vested interests. But most people do not understand the game so they continue to blindly believe the lies of those in power without looking at the clear evidence that our highly vaccinated children are the sickest children in history. The healthiest children I know are the ones who are not vaccinated. But people are never going to see what they refuse to look at.

vaccines
It was refreshing to hear that someone in the medical field feels that vaccines are not a good thing! Thank goodness. I researched and researched while I was pregnant with my son and decided that I would not vaccinate him. I am so thankful that I did the research and thought for myself. Most people just go along with what the doctors and society says they should do.
Everyone that I have talked to in the medical field swears up and down that vaccines are so good and are a must. I stopped going to the peditrician because it got to be annoying to have to explain to each doctor that I didn't want any shots for my son. They would tell me all these horror stories about some outbreak of something somewhere. Well, I can say that I would rather my child get measles than to have asthma, autism and god knows what else. It is so hard to really know just how much damage these vaccines are doing. All I know is that my child has NEVER been sick--he is almost a year old. He also has been so bright and alert from early on--crawling at 5 months and walking at 9months. On 4 separate occasions strangers have told me what bright eyes he has. I surely know that it is because they are looking into the eyes of an unvaccinated child--something they don't see that often. Well, keep up spreading your knowledge! Thanks for the insight. Hopefully, everyone will one day open their eyes to these pharmacuetical companies and the unbelievable power that they have within the government. Thanks again!

Hmmm...measles or autism?
Why doesn't any reporter just ask the most important (and simple)question... would you rather your child have measles, or autism?
Compare the severity of both:
Measles -
Most patients with uncomplicated measles will recover with rest and supportive treatment. The fatality rate from measles for otherwise healthy people in developed countries is low: approximately 1 death per thousand cases.
AND..get this, no drugs are known to cure measles.
Autism -
There is no cure. Children recover occasionally, sometimes after intensive treatment and sometimes not; it is not known how often this happens.
Many medications are used to treat problems associated with ASD. More than half of U.S. children diagnosed with ASD are prescribed psychoactive drugs or anticonvulsants, with the most common drug classes being antidepressants, stimulants, and antipsychotics. Treatment is expensive; indirect costs are more so. A U.S. study estimated an average cost of $3.2 million in 2003 U.S. dollars for someone born in 2000, with about 10% medical care, 30% extra education and other care, and 60% lost economic productivity.
Of that $3.2 million that each autistic person may cost, who do you think is at the receiving end of this spending? Possibly...pharmaceutical companies...that not only make the vaccinations but also make the drugs used to manage the disorder.
How could anyone choose to put their child at risk of developing a lifelong disabling disorder like autism in order to reduce (not even eliminate!) the chance of contracting measles?
And yes, there are some very effective vaccines out there...but why put them in a humans body when it is only days, weeks, months old? Get your vaccinations from seriously fatal diseases, such as meningitis...but wait until the child is older and do some research as to what the health risks are if you travel to areas of the planet where you (and your children) can be exposed to dangerous contagious diseases. Everybody wants an easy, one shot, miracle cure for everything...when the best way to protect your child is to do your research. You may just know better about what your child's needs are than the US government does.
Measles v autism is a false choice
Measles or autism? That's a false choice. There is no good evidence that MMR causes autism. On the other hand, there are plenty of quality studies that show no link. Wakefield's 1998 study did not conclude there was a link. The whole "controversy" is a fabrication by the UK press.
Vaccine injured victims
My baby and I were injured by vaccines just last year - permanently. I did some digging afterwards through baby books, medical records, and photos and found that we have three other victims in our family - which included one death. Nobody in my family will ever receive a vaccine again. The risks definitely outweigh the benefits for us. One in a million harmed by vaccines? Yeah, right AAP.
Evidence and Facts.
There is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that the combined MMR vaccine causes or increases the tendancy for autism.
What we have here are some children who developed autism but also received MMR. It is a logical fallacy to say their Autism was a CAUSE of the MMR. Some of the commenters here need to do some research into "Correlation does not imply causation".
You could say that the Autistic children were brought up by parents who gave birth in hospital. Therefore it was the hospital that gave them autism.
You could say that Autistic children were given the vaccine by a nurse. Therefore it was the nurse that gave them autism.
Oh yes. Don't forget Pharmacaeutical companies. They make money. Money is bad. You make money. That makes you bad. Sure they do some things that are bad, but please for the intellegence of our species, learn how to determine the CAUSE and EFFECT, rather than innaccurately jumping on a correlation that has absolutely no link.
There is absolutely no evidence that links MMR to Autism. This whole fiasco was caused by a handful of very irresponsible media reporters here in the UK. Unfortunately it created a controversy and only a small proportion of the intellectual folks could see through the propoganda.
It would be very sad to see one of your children suffer from a preventable illness with the levels of technology 21st century, because of levels of 13th century intelligence in some people.
"Crib death" was so
"Crib death" was so infrequent in the pre-vaccination era that it was not even mentioned in the statistics, but it started to climb in the 1950s with the spread of mass vaccination against diseases of childhood. --Harris L.Coulter, PhD.
In 1983 a child from birth to age 6 got a total of 10 injections. That number is now 36. And that is without the yearly flu shots.
36 vaccines! Who can possible believe that it is good for the health of a child?
That is only good for the coffers of big pharma. Big pHARMa is by far the richest conglomerate in the world and in control of everything including the mind of the general public.
