When a wedding guest insists on making a toast

Q: What should I do if a wedding guest insists on making a toast?A: Between the parents, the maid of honor and the best man, the traditional reception toast lineup is already pretty long. But if your guest insists that he or she has something important to say about you as a couple, then defer to the rehearsal dinner.Having the person make a toast the night before will allow him or her to speak while still keeping the toasting time to a minimum at the reception. If there's really no other option than to have the person speak at the reception, consider spreading out the toasts between each dinner course.(Carley Roney, co-founder and editor in chief of The Knot, the nation's leading wedding resource, advises millions of brides on modern wedding etiquette at www.theknot.com.)

hmmm interesting... spreading out the toasts between dinner courses is a good idea... as it will keep everyone entertained... plus everyone will also get some time to chit chat... during the breaks
