National wrapper redemptions, V.I.P packages loaded

Donruss, Upper Deck and Press Pass are offering redemption programs during the annual National Sports Collector Convention, which will be held at the Stephens Center in Chicago, IL from July 30 - Aug 3.
Donruss
Returning will be the Donruss Elite wrapper redemption. Available only at the Donruss corporate booth, collectors who bring five unopened packs of any 2008 hobby product or a box of any retail product will get a two-card Donruss Elite rookie pack. Twenty different rookies will be randomly inserted in these packs, all utilizing photography from this year's Rookie Photo Shoot.
To differentiate these cards from the original Donruss Elite release, the cards will be serial-numbered XXX/499. Also randomly inserted in the packs will be die-cut Aspiration and Status parallels. Each rookie card will have a Blue Aspirations parallel serial-numbered to XX/50, a Red Status parallel serial-numbered to XX/50 and a Gold Status Parallel serial-numbered to XX/25.
Donruss will also be randomly inserting autograph cards of the players, as well as “Instant Win” cards good for an 8x10 of the original Donruss Elite RC signed by the player.
The players in the set are Darren McFadden, Matt Ryan, Jonathan Stewart, Rashard Mendenhall, Felix Jones, Chris Johnson, Jamaal Charles, Brian Brohm, Chad Henne, Joe Flacco, Matt Forte, James Hardy, Malcolm Kelly, Limas Sweed, Mario Manningham, Devin Thomas, Donnie Avery, Eddie Royal, Jordy Nelson and Jake Long.
Donruss will also be bringing their prize wheel to the event, giving collectors the chance at free trading cards. The wheel stands approximately 10 feet tall and spots on the wheel will designate which trading cards will be awarded. Six of the cards on the wheel will be using the Donruss Threads football design, which ships around the time of The National. The remaining spots will highlight Donruss’ Americana and baseball, giving collectors 12 total cards to collect. Players in the set are Adrian Peterson, Devin Hester, Darren McFadden, Matt Ryan, Felix Jones, Jonathan Stewart, Willie Mays, George St. Pierre, Richard Petty, Randy Couture, Josh Vitters and Aaron Pereda.
Donruss will also be creating a limited, six-card VIP promotional set. The set, available only to VIP ticket holders, will feature some of the hottest rookies from this year's exciting draft class. The set includes Darren McFadden, Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco, Felix Jones, Jonathan Stewart and Chicago Bears running back, Matt Forte.
Upper Deck
Six-card packs of redemptions cards will be available Thursday, July 31 through Sunday Aug. 3. Collectors who purchase and open (at the UD booth) five packs of UD or Fleer 2008 baseball or football or 2007-08 basketball or hockey products with SRPs of $2.99 or more receive redemption packs. (2008 First Edition basketball and 2007-08 Victory Hockey, O-Pee-Chee hockey and MVP Hockey packs will not be accepted.)

Press Pass
A “National Edition” five-card parallel from Press Pass VIP will be included in the VIP bags. The sixth card of the set is a Jeff Gordon “National Exclusive” card, available only after show VIP ticket holders go to the company’s booth and redeem a coupon that will also be in the bags. The checklist for this is: Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards and Jeff Gordon. The wrapper redemption program features star autographed cards of a collector’s choice (while supplies last) after they open a box of any 2008 Press Pass Racing product at the booth. There is also a wrapper redemption for “National Exclusive” football parallel cards from one of the 100 base cards available in 2008 Press Pass Legends FB. Each collector who opens one mini-box of Legends football at the booth will receive one blind-wrapped red parallel numbered to only 5.
