Bride-to-be needs to let others plan bachelorette party

Q: Is it OK to suggest specific plans for my bachelorette party?A: Although it's understandable that you're in micromanaging mode as a bride-to-be, you'll have to set aside any control-freak tendencies when it comes to your bachelorette party (and your shower, for that matter).Since others are organizing this event in your honor, giving them precise instructions would be rude. That said, giving a little input benefits everyone (they want you to have a good time, after all).Give general suggestions ("I think a sedate dinner would be more fun for everybody than a bar crawl"), not specific demands ("I'd like to have drinks at that new champagne bar followed by a 9 p.m. reservation at Osteria Romana").Keep in mind that the "who" part of the bachelorette night -- all your favorite girls together --is way more important than the "what," "when" and "where."(Carley Roney, co-founder and editor in chief of The Knot, the nation's leading wedding resource, advises millions of brides on modern wedding etiquette at www.theknot.com.)(Distributed by Scripps Howard News Service, http://www.scrippsnews.com)

I agree that you should give

I agree that you should give suggestions only. Your friends and family are putting these parties together for you since your getting married. Just an idea for anyone setting up a party for the bride I saw a bachelorette party out one night and they had given a tshirt to the bride with a list of tasks to be completed by the end of the night. A scavenger hunt, to kiss a stranger, get a guys boxers, and the list went on. Most tasks were fine I don't remember them all but I know some were kind of crazy and could possibly lead to some future martial help....

Ditto that

Let others surprise you. It'll be fun and just one less thing to worry about. Kick back and enjoy yourself and the people who love you.
