Beckham arrives DC

Los Angeles Galaxy's David Beckham announced today in a press conference in Washington D.C. that he is unsure if he will join his teammates against DC United tomorrow at the RFK Stadium.

"I'm looking forward to the game tomorrow," Beckham said. "Hopefully I'll play some part of it. But that's not for definite yet. I don't want to set myself back another five or six weeks just for 20 minutes on the field."

Beckham said his ankle injury has been slowly improving every day and his main goal is to get out on the field and play.

"It's very frustrating for myself," he said.

The Galaxy star has not yet played a full game since he joined the team. Beckham was on the field with teammates today for practice, but did not run much.

"Yesterday I trained for about 20 minutes," he said. "We're seeing how it (ankle) reacts today."

Frank Yallop, head coach of the LA Galaxy said whether Beckham plays or not tomorrow night will depend on Beckham's condition during practice.

"We're not going to put him out there to re-injure him," Yallop said. "He knows his own body; he'll let us know if he's ready or not."

The game begins at 7 p.m. EDT and will be televised on ESPN2.
