ENTERTAINMENT

TRANSFORMERS-FILM (Owen, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette) --Embargoed for Monday release. Filmgoers can't reasonably expect more than pyrotechnic porn from a big-budget summer action flick based on a 1980s line of toys and a cartoon series. Fans of Optimus Prime and the gang will likely be satisfied by the lively "Transformers," but at a bloated 144 minutes, the metallic movie wears out its welcome. 550.

MAROULIS-TV (Pickle, SHNS) -- First he smoldered for the cameras as a finalist on season four of "American Idol." Now Constantine Maroulis is heating up daytime television with a recurring role as music producer Constantine Parros on "The Bold and the Beautiful." 600.

FAMILYGLANCE-FILM (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette) -- A capsule look at films from a family perspective. 650.

CAMPCLASSICS-DVD (Beifuss, SHNS) -- We're all agog because "Trog," Joan Crawford's final film, is now available on DVD, either separately, or as part of the "Cult Camp Classics Vol. 2 -- Women in Peril" collection. 650.

LIVING

DISABILITY-LIVING (Appel, SHNS -- Column) -- A look at the Special Needs Alliance, a group of lawyers who specialize in the areas of disability and public benefits, and how they can help a variety of people. 400.
