One thing I hated about "Premonition"
Submitted by Phil Villarreal on Wed, 03/14/2007 - 13:00.
That I wasn't able to squeeze into my review: In the opening scene, Sandra Bullock's husband drives her around, having her cover her eyes because he's about to reveal a big surprise. Then he tells her to take a look and ta-daaaa! He's bought a house and a bow is on the front door. Bullock goes all giddy, as if this is the most romantic think ever.
This has to be one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. For starters the guy really isn't buying her anything. He's just locking her into a 30-year contract to pay off the house. Also, he's being extremely overbearing. If a man ever had the audacity to buy a house without consulting his wife about it, he'd get reamed. Going off and buying a new house is just as presumptuous as throwing away all her clothes and replacing them with stuff of his own choosing. The movie lost me from that point on.
