Candles are. . . Dangerous?

The Wall Street Journal reports that. . . Candles are dangerous!
Who knew?
"The growing popularity of scented and decorative candles. . . is prompting fire safety concerns. . . Safety and industry officials are weighting new labels and standards for candle accessories that would lay out warnings more clearly," reported the WSJ.
Warnings. . . .more clearly? People, candles are LITTLE FIRES. Fire, because apparently people in the 21st century haven't figured this out yet, is DANGEROUS.
I could not say it more louldly than. . . DUH.
Wow, I must be so ahead of the curve here. I love decorative candles, I use them everywhere and all the time and, I don't know, it's just always ocurred to me to make sure I do it in a way that I don't light the house on fire.
But apparently, that's just not something the average person spending money on scented and decorative candles for ambiance and mood could possibly figure out.
Wow, thank goodness "Safety and industry officials" are on the job! People couldn't possibly figure this out on their own.

All you have to do is buckle up and you can speed and tailgate and pull out in front of people, even with your precious little ones in the car and no harm will befall. When we ban trans fat, CO2 emissions and guns you will live forever, and we are going to fix it so Mt. Pinatubo never erupts again; so there!All you have to do is vote like you should and not question the bureaucracies we set up.
(In our neck of the woods, they are hiring something called STORM WATER INSPECTORS, and the paltry few cents a month extra you pay on your water bill is FOR YOUR OWN GOOD, don't ya know?)
Founding Fathers? What's that, like, biological or something?
About 85 years ago, the whiz kids took the power to regulate interstate commerce, usurped, bastardized and corrupted it and the constitution has never been the same. If the Feds miss some little aspect of your life, the Socialists cry "Dereliction!" and demand that the states provide a remedy. It is sickening. Nikita didn't specify what it was they were going to bury us with, did he?
