A Pew Research Center survey conducted in mid-October found that more than half of Americans know "nothing at all" about the debate over how congressional districts are drawn. The survey, with a sample of 2,006 adults, including 1,552 registered voters, and a margin of error between 3 and 4 percentage points, also found:
_ 62 percent of Americans believe politicians facing tough re-elections focus too much on campaigning.
_ 70 percent of Americans have no opinion about their satisfaction with current procedures for drawing congressional district lines.
