Wii Change
Nintendo announced that its Wii console outsold the Xbox 360 and PS3 in January by a disgustingly wide margin. The Wii sold 435,503 units while the Xbox 360 sold 294,000 and the PS3 brought up the rear with 244,000. It's exactly the start Nintendo needed to establish itself as a player in the new generation of console gaming, but mark my words - the lead will shrink or disappear entirely if the Wii's online system, which is set for release the second quarter of this year, can't hang with Microsoft's sterling Xbox Live program.
Live allows you to see when friends are online, send them messages, which they can check while playing, and most importantly, compare achievements in games they both own. PS3 fumbled by making its online service user unfriendly and achievements-free, and Nintendo made a smart move by holding back at the beginning to ensure it gets it right. The Wii absolutely needs achievements and voice chat to remain a player in the coming years. Online multiplayer with its old-school, downloadable virtual console games would also add tremendous value to the system.
I requested an interview with Nintendo to grill them about its online plans, which they've been keeping mum. Haven't heard back, but that's nothing new - Nintendo tends to act extremely secretively. Hopefully the silence is smug confidence, not ashamed embarrassment of what's to come.

Nintendo reported this?
Actually, I think you need to re-read the news report you are regurgitating. It was NPD (not affiliated with Nintendo) that reported this. Lets not get beack to Sony reporting they sold millions of this or that and lets stick to the annalysts who actually report the sales.
Also, I doubt they will give you an interview for you to "grill" anyone.
