Why Aren't These on DVD?

If studios are so desperate to crank out DVDs that even "Enemy of the State" gets a special edition re-release, I'm wondering why these unappreciated classics fester unreleased.

3. "Saturday Night Live: Season 19, Episode 14 (Feb. 19, 1994) - It's a damn shame that Martin Lawrence's hosting gig on SNL - still the funniest episode ever created - was deemed too vulgar to repeat on network TV, or even on Comedy Central. Martin engages Chris Farley in a prison fight and tells Al Franken's Stuart Smalley what he really thinks of him. I wish this thing could play over and over again on my DVD player instead of the theater of my 15-year-old memory.

2. "Secret of the Sword" (1985) - He-Man and She-Ra team up to open up a can of bitchslap on the evil Hordak and Skeletor. This animated film dominates the live-action 1989 He-Man film starring Dolph Lundgren, and the theme song "I Have the Power" alone is worth the price of admission. It's only out on VHS.

1. "The Wizard" (1989) - When you break it all down, all this is is a 100-minute commercial for "Super Mario Bros. 3," but what a commercial it is. Fred Savage and his retarded little brother do what we all wished we could when we were 11 - hitch-hike across the country to dominate all comers in the Nintendo World Championships. The flick's got Christian Slater as a cheesy arcade bully, great dialogue and most impotantly, the Power Glove, and that's really all that matters. This sucker is available on DVD allright, but only in Germany.
