What's a guy to do?

Choices, choices, choices.

When you're a sports fan this time of year, you've always got choices to make.

The weather is nicer, the sun stays up longer, and the running trails and tennis courts and basketball hoops become more enticing.

Then again, becoming a couch potato is awfully beckoning, too.

The NBA and NHL are holding their playoffs simultaneously. There are always major-league baseball games on. And the choices get harder in May when the infernal networks wind up all of their popular shows with fresh episodes and cliffhangers during the sweeps.

Consider the choices I'm facing tonight. I can watch Shaquille O'Neal and Dwyane Wade host the New Jersey Nets. I can see if Ottawa, New Jersey or Edmonton can win their first game in the NHL conference semifinals. Or I can flip over to see the New York Yankees hosting the Boston Red Sox.

Then again, I could blow off sports altogether and watch "Lost."

It's a channel flipper's delight, but a huge headache.

Maybe I'll just leave the house and play basketball with some friends.

Heh. If I do that, I'll be facing another headache when I get home - for leaving my wife alone with our baby all night.
