-- The number of students in California schools is on the rise. Meanwhile, the number of teachers has dropped by 13,000 in the past two years.

-- Teacher training has been cut by $100 million since 2007-2008.

-- In 2010-2011, fewer than half of schools surveyed had 180 days in the school year. Two years earlier, they all had 180 days.

-- Half of schools surveyed had cut counselors, librarians and teacher aides in the past three years.

-- A third of school districts reported cutting the number of school administrators in the past three years.

-- Two-thirds of districts have shifted funds away from administrator training.
