40: Points scored in a single game by Ernie Nevers of the Chicago Cardinals vs. the Chicago Bears. Date: Nov. 28, 1929.

6: Most touchdowns rushing in one game by Ernie Nevers of the Chicago Cardinals vs. the Chicago Bears. Date: Nov. 28, 1929.

8.44: Yards per carry by Beattie Feathers of the Chicago Bears for the entire 1944 season _ the highest per-carry average for a season in history.

51.40: Punting average for Sammy Baugh of the Washington Redskins for the 1940 season _ the highest average for a season in history.

45.92: Punting average for rookie Frank Sinkwich of the Detroit Lions for the 1943 season _ the highest punting average for a rookie in history.

61.75: Punting average for Bob Cifers of the Detroit Lions vs. the Chicago Bears. Date: Nov. 24, 1946.

32.58: Average yards per reception for Don Currivan of the Boston Yanks for the 1947 season (minimum 24 receptions). Currivan caught 24 passes for 782 yards that season.

18.58: Average yards per pass completion for Sammy Baugh of the Washington Redskins vs. the Boston Yanks. Baugh completed 24 passes that day for 446 yards. Date: Oct. 31, 1948.

2: Touchdowns scored off fumble recoveries for Fred "Dippy" Evans of the Chicago Bears vs. the Washington Redskins. Date: Nov. 28, 1948.

301: Yards gained off pass interceptions by rookie Don Doll of the Detroit Lions in 1949 _ the most gained by a rookie in one season.
