The second 18-card installment of Topps/Wal-Mart cards will be available when Series 2 blaster boxes go on sale. The Series release date is June 14, but it may take a few days for the product to actually make it to store shelves.
Once again the cards will be in three-card cello packs available exclusively in 2006 Topps baseball blaster boxes sold at Wal-Mart stores. The cards feature Hall of Famers and today’s stars in the designs of Topps cards issued over the years.
The second batch includes Yogi Berra (WM3), Mickey Mantle (6), Alex Rodriguez (7), Gary Carter (9), Roy Oswalt (10), Johan Santana (14), Roberto Clemente(15), Carl Yastrzemski (16), Chipper Jones (21), Alfonso Soriano (25), Albert Pujols (31), Cal Ripken (32), Jose Reyes (36), Derrek Lee (38), Miguel Cabrera (39), Barry Bonds (42), Livan Hernandez (44) and Derek Jeter (45).
The first 18 cards included Stan Musial (WM1), Ted Williams (2), Mickey Mantle (5), Carlos Lee (13), Ichiro (22) Bobby Abreu (23) Tom Seaver (24), Andruw Jones (26) Adam Dunn (28), Mark Teixeira (30), Ryne Sandberg (33), Don Mattingly (34), Roger Clemens (35), Barry Bonds (41), David Ortiz (46), Ivan Rodriguez (48), Alex Rodriguez (52) and Vladimir Guerrero (53).
The 54-card set is spread over Series 1, 2 and Traded and Highlights products.
More than likely there will be a number of short-printed cards in the second series. There were six cards that were much harder to find in the first 18.
