Pavin should ponder Watson, Couples for Ryder Cup

If you were Corey Pavin would you be considering Watson or Couples for your Ryder Cup captain's picks?

At match play, why not? Do you think they're playing well enough? Are they experienced? Are they good for young guys to be around?

Couples is 55-under par for the first nine rounds on the Champions Tour, and still hits it over 300 yards. Watson shot a little 62 coming home Sunday, and was runner-up at the British Open last summer.

I think it would be awesome for the Ryder Cup and for golf.

Hey Corey, call Dr. Watson and Sherlock Couples.

-- How many of you have had enough already of two of the Golf Channel's shows -- "Being John Daly," who cares? And "The Big Break?"

Not to mention Mike Breed on "The Golf Fix." All he does is scream and get his mug in the camera lens.

The Golf Channel has got to come up with some new life. There are clearly another small group of instructors who get their nod.

Sad. Whatever happened to "Academy Live?" They used to expose a much wider variety of teaching and coaching talent. That gave the serious viewer a much broader exposure to a variety of swing theories.

And don't tune in during daytime hours unless you want to watch the same infomercials over and over and over.. Whoever is the program director there, wake up.
