'Partridge' star David Cassidy arrested on DUI charges in Fla.

ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. - David Cassidy, the famed teen heartthrob of the 1970s best known for his role in the television show "The Partridge Family", has been arrested on a driving under the influence charge on Florida's Turnpike.

Cassidy, 60, was pulled over Wednesday after a Florida Highway Patrol trooper spotted his white 2008 Mercedes weaving, according to an affidavit released Thursday.

A Fort Lauderdale, Fla. resident, Cassidy was southbound north of the Okeechobee Road exit when the trooper saw his car travel off the road and then on the road a number of times.

The trooper said Cassidy said he'd had a glass of wine around lunchtime and took "a hydrocodone" (the generic name for Oxycontin) about 3:30 p.m.

Breath tests about 8:30 p.m. measured Cassidy's blood alcohol content at 0.139 and 0.141 -- greater than the 0.08 legal limit, the affidavit said.

Investigators also found a half empty bottle of bourbon in his vehicle.

David Cassidy faces charges including DUI, failure to maintain a single lane and having an open container of alcohol.
