Even though I liked "Mission: Impossible III," I can't help but enjoy watching it fail at the box office. Studio estimates say the would-be $150 million-budget blockbuster pulled in only $47.7 million over the weekend.
It was a solid, fun film, but I've just got to face that although I like Tom Cruise as an actor, Tom Cruise the person just annoys me. Watching him try so hard and fail is as fun as watching Kobe Bryant pile up 51 points in a loss to the Suns in the playoffs. I can't be alone on this. Even though "M:i:III" was good summer fun, I wouldn't have seen it had I not been paid to do so.
