Repainting a room always seems to freshen up and renew the look of the space. You have several options with this idea. You could repaint the entire room a new color, or you can paint one wall one color and the other three walls a coordinating color. If you want to do something a little more interesting, paint the lower third of the walls one color and the upper two-thirds another color, separating the colors with a funky wallpaper trim.
If you're strapped for time, you could simply repaint all the wood trim. Freshen up baseboards that have been banged up by the vacuum cleaner. Spiff up doors that have nicks and dirty handprints. Just repainting the wood can go a long way toward freshening up the room.
Adding crown molding to any room raises its status from pauper to prince. Crown molding comes in a variety of styles and sizes. The long winter months can be depressing, but if you fill them with home improvements, you will not only stay busy but also enjoy a nice fresh start for your home.
