How powerful is Michael Phelps?
Consider this: Phelps might be swimming in a final every night at the Olympic trials but two – the final night of the meet and tonight.
Tonight was his 23rd birthday.
You don’t think that USA Swimming jiggered with the schedule to give Phelps an easy night for his birthday, do you?
Phelps did have to swim in a 200-meter freestyle semifinals tonight, but he wasn't pushed. His time was nearly two seconds slower of his world record, and he advanced easily to Tuesday night’s final.
Let’s hope he enjoyed his "light" evening. The work gets harder again tomorrow.
