The New York Times editorial board weighed in a proposed "Three strikes and you're out" law in Connecticut. Connecticut lawmakers are proposing that any criminal convicted of three violent crimes should be sentenced to life in prison.

The NY Times opposes this, saying that it won't make Connecticut safer. Huh? Locking up career criminals and throwing away the key is a wonderful way to keep law-abiding people safe.
