A Bad Dream

I caught a preview screening of supposed best picture Oscar shoo-in “Dreamgirls”? last night. It was awful and I’d rather spout off about it here before I start pounding out my review that will run Dec. 14, the day before the movie opens.
This is another terrible musical, just like “The Producers”? and “Rent.”? We’re talking sung dialogue, neverending, pointless montages, horrible acting and a thin story. Buzz be damned, I can’t see how voters could possibly lift this hunk of junk to an Oscar nomination. Martin Scorsese, the road’s all clear for you to take hom the hardware this year.
Paying taxes unites us. It also divides us. People can pay five and even six times more in state and local taxes than other folks in similar circumstances making similar incomes.
