Q: Can I ask guests to ship shower gifts directly to my home instead of bringing them to the shower?
A: Though asking guests to send gifts right to your house is easier than lugging all your brand-new kitchen appliances home, no, you can't ask. Showers are about opening gifts and getting those "oohs" and "ahhs" after you reveal what's inside each box. If your shower is in your hometown but you now live four hours away, store all the gifts at a relative's house until you can ship them yourself, or just pack them all into the car and drive them home. It's unfair to ask guests to pay for shipping costs on top of buying you a present.
