Ask Carley: Involving the groom in her wedding-dress selection

Q: I definitely don't want my fiance to see me in the dress on the day-of, but what about before that?

A: It's really your choice. There's no etiquette rule in the books for this, so go with your gut. If you're superstitious, keep him clear. But if you want his opinion on the dress, let him in on the decision-making process

Show him photos of dresses you're thinking of trying on. Having his feedback before you shop will help a lot. Or bring him along to the bridal salon to get his thoughts.

We know of a few grooms who have accompanied their fiancees to weigh in on the dress.
