I had a friend who died from catching MRSA while in prison. It is spreading more in the inmate population despite what others are saying. She got a cut on her leg while working in correctional industries. Contracted a staph infection, then it was MRSA which she died from while still in prison. The guards and prisoners would know more about this because they experience it firsthand. If you think this is so overblown, I would like you to see handling everyday objects that are shared with hundreds of other people in a close setting.
