The first number to the right of the author's name is the book's previous week's ranking; the second is the number of weeks the book has been on the best-seller list.

Honoring young-adult literature

If you're looking for a good book for the teenager in your life, try one of the Printz Award winners.

Never heard of the Printz Award? You're not alone. It's a relatively new award presented annually by the American Library Association, the same group that selects the Newbery Medal for the best-written children's book of the year and the Caldecott Medal for the best-illustrated children's book of the year.

Unlike the Newbery and Caldecott _ often called the "Oscars of children's literature"_ the Printz Award hasn't yet gathered nearly so much public attention.

Marvel's 'Civil War' series stalls on the creative front

September is another busy month in the world of comics, and for a change the humongous crossovers at Marvel and DC are not dominating the news.

At Marvel Comics, a recent press release announced delays on the ongoing "Civil War" miniseries, a storyline crossing over into most of Marvel's major titles.
