Ask Babe: More questions for the Babe
Dear Babe: My husband, Ed, has a signed baseball. His dad worked part-time at Ebbets Field as a concessionaire and would ask for the autographs. The ball is signed by Art Fowler, Carl Furillo, Wally Moon, Norm Larker, Johnny Podres, Gil Hodges, Charles Neal, Walt Alston, Rip Ripulski, Pee Wee Reese, John Roseboro, Jim Gilliam, Don Drysdale and Sandy Koufax among others.

McNulty: Florida prep sports need Obama bailout
Dear Barack: Can I call you that? I figured, since seeing you fill out your NCAA hoops bracket on ESPN and become the first sitting U.S. president to appear on "The Tonight Show," it was OK to dispense with the formalities.
Anyway, I'm writing because we, the people of St. Lucie County here in Florida, need your help.
For our school kids.
Ostler: Athletes need to jump on Love Train
When the San Francisco 49ers were recently courting quarterback Kurt Warner, they flew him into town on a private jet and whisked him to Santa Clara in a stretch limo.
What's missing here? Other than Kurt Warner, who rejected the 49ers' offer. (Maybe they should have said, "Dude, keep the jet!")
What's missing is a connection to reality.
Ask Babe: More questions for the Babe
Dear Babe: I have two new Dale Earnhardt Sr. pit crew jerseys from the 1983 and '84 seasons. I may be off by one year, but I have one from each of the two years. This was when Earnhardt Sr. drove for Wrangler. These are the jerseys that the pit crew actually wore, as opposed to officially licensed merchandise. I made the jerseys for two years and kept one each year.
Knapp: City by the bay is being used
When did San Francisco become the city that gets used? When the football team endures six straight losing seasons and the baseball team muddles through four of its own that should be indignity enough. But now some senior-class heartthrobs have asked our poor wallflowers to dance, and everybody assumes the whirl will be only for show, to make the studs' dates jealous.
Knapp: Harding-Kerrigan scandal for the ages
Fifteen years later, the greatest scandal in sports history still defies belief.
