TV Highlights: Leno move shakes up network landscape
The most notable change in prime-time television this fall is also the biggest change to the broadcast network landscape since upstart rival Fox launched in 1986. NBC will forgo its mantle as a home for adult, quality 10 p.m. dramas ("ER," "L.A. Law," etc.) in favor of stripping "The Jay Leno Show" at 10 p.m. Monday through Friday.

PBS bets that its youngest viewers will love them together in "Dinosaur Train," a new computer-animated series from Jim Henson Productions that premieres Monday with a two-hour marathon of episodes (8-10 a.m. EDT).
Original 'Melrose' hands Leighton, Calabro glad to be in new version
Laura Leighton and Thomas Calabro won't be the only familiar faces on the new "Melrose Place." Josie Bissett, who played Jane (Syd's sister), and Daphne Zuniga, who played photographer Jo, will also make appearances this fall. Producers have also been talking with Grant Show, who played Jake in the original series.
Owen-TV: 'Melrose Place' remake better than expected
Set aside that a remake of "Melrose Place" just 10 years removed from the original seems like too much too soon. The CW's new version of the 1990s soap begins with a surprisingly well-made pilot that's better than either the 1992 first episode of "Melrose Place" or last year's "90210" reboot.
Owen-TV: National Geographic explores our family tree
We humans sure are skilled at creating division where none should exist. That's one of the central themes of National Geographic Channel's "The Human Family Tree" (9 p.m. EDT Sunday), which uses scientific advances to show how we're all connected.
TV: Edie Falco dishes about the cheating 'Nurse Jackie'
Showtime's "Nurse Jackie" ends its first season Monday as it puts the title character's infidelity front and center.
Owen-TV: An uneven documentary about high-school musicals
It's easy to understand filmmaker Barry Blaustein's enthusiasm for high-school musicals, which he brings to the uneven documentary "Guys 'N Divas: Battle of the High School Musicals" (8:30 p.m. EDT Thursday, Aug. 27, Showtime).
Owen-TV: New Discovery series dusts off ancient Egypt
Discovery Channel lucked into a sellable concept with "Out of Egypt," a new series hosted by Kara Cooney, a youthful UCLA assistant professor of Egyptian art and architecture.
