Manager Ron Gardenhire is in his seventh season managing the Minnesota Twins. He's had a fair share of problems with Charlie Reliford's various crews of umpires.Reliford was in charge of the group working the weekend series with the Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park. His companions were veterans Brian Runge, Greg Gibson and vacation fill-in Scott Berry.

Before Hunter, Bostock blazed trail to Angels

Thirty years before Torii Hunter left the Minnesota Twins for the Angels, another hitter had done the same -- and gave away his first two checks.Lyman Bostock did the same on Nov. 21, 1977, signing a five-year contract for a total of $2.5 million with the then-California Angels.
