Convicted child bride rapist and polygamous sect leader Warren Jeffs is sedated but responsive, and expected to recover from unspecified medical problems that have sent him to another hospital in Texas, a prison official said.

Tuesday afternoon, Jeffs was moved by helicopter from the East Texas Medical Center in Tyler, Texas, to a Texas prison hospital 200 miles away in Galveston.

After polygamous sect leader Warren Jeffs' sentencing on child rape charges earlier this month, a challenger to Jeffs' leadership is denouncing his "perverted, immoral behavior" and those who continue to support him.

SALT LAKE CITY - At least two leaders in the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints have resigned their posts in what some former church members say is part of the expulsion of more than 30 people by jailed leader Warren S. Jeffs.
